Book Distribution
The distribution of Krishna Conscious literature is the foundation of the Hare Krishna Movement. The New Gundicha Temple seeks to discover and implement novel and effective strategies for dissemination, including direct and passive book distribution by devotees; sponsored placement in libraries, correctional institutions, and hotels; Internet and cable broadcasting; weekend and holiday book tables; and other strategies.
For further information please visit our Book Distribution web page. To participate by placing or sponsoring books, please contact Rohini Nandan Das at 1-617-247-8611 or by email at sd@iskconboston.org
Srila Prabhupada's Arrival Festival
Every September, devotees commemorate Srila Prabhupada's arrival to Boston's Commonwealth Pier, which marks the beginning of Krishna Consciousness in America. The Bhaktivedanta Mission Conference and Festival seeks to establish sound mission principles for the continued expansion of the Hare Krishna Movement in America, develop effective strategies according to time, place and circumstance, and identify opportunities for missionary collaboration across the continent. Please contact us for further information, or to volunteer to assist in the planning and execution of this annual Festival.
Food For Life
Srila Prabhupada desired that devotees strive to feed the hungry within a 10-mile radius of every Temple. Food For Life (FFL) brings Lord Krishna's prasadam (sanctified vegetarian nutrition) to the poor, the homeless, the homebound, and all suffering living entities. FFL also conducts extensive disaster relief throughout the world. New Gundicha serves in excess of 10,000 plates of nutritious prasadam locally every year, and works collaboratively with the worldwide Hare Krishna Food For Life to bring prasadam and disaster relief to the suffering living entities throughout the world. Please contact us for further information, or to contribute your skills, resources, or services for FFL.
Monastic Vocations
Over the past one hundred years, the Hare Krishna Movement has relied primarily on monastics (brahmacaris, vanacharis, and sannyasis) to propagate the chanting of the Holy Name and bring the message of Krishna Consciousness to every town and village. New Gundicha Temple invites devotees to consider monastic vocations and provides adequate education and formation for a successful life of exclusive dedication to Lord Krishna. Please contact us to schedule an informational meeting and assessment.
Resourcing the Mission
The New Gundicha Temple is committed to serving the needs of devotees and aspiring seekers throughout the Greater Boston area. To do this effectively, the Temple must develop secure and sufficient income streams. Whether conducting fundraising or developing business enterprises, the Temple's financial stability and progress require expertise in planning and execution, as well as accountability and transparency in management. Please contact us for further information, or to contribute your skills, resources, or service.
