Gaura-Purnima Sunday, Feb 28th (Fast until moon rise) Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu (1486 - 1534)
Lord Krishna himself in the form of a Vaishnava saint, preacher and social reformer in 16th century Bengal and Orissa, India. During this time, Sri Krishna Chaitanya was the primary proponent of the Vaishnava school of Bhakti yoga. He taught how to serve Radha - Krishna and popularized the chanting of the Hare Krishna maha mantra. His line of followers, known as Gaudiya Vaishnavas, fully accept him as Lord Krishna with the devotional mood and complexion of Radharani. Such an avatar of the Lord is prophesied in the Bhagavata Purana.
